Trevor Hoffman gets 600th career save

Trevor Hoffman(notes) became the first player to reach 600 saves Tuesday night after the Brewers reliever pitched a scoreless ninth inning in a 4-2 win over the Cardinals.
The all-time saves leader and seven-time All-Star recorded most of football jerseys
his saves during 16 seasons with the Padres. At 42, Hoffman lost his full-time closer job this year with the Brewers. His save Tuesday was just his ninth of the season in 13 chances.
