Missouri suspends RB Washington indefinitely

All of a sudden, Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert is facing the prospect of lining up under center without two of his best playmakers.
Already dealing with the possibility of nfl jerseys being without their leading returning receiver Jerrell Jackson for the season opener against Illinois because of a broken wrist, the Tigers now have to face the Fighting Illini without last season’s leading rusher.
According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, running back Derrick Washington has been suspended indefinitely by head coach Gary Pinkel.
A reason for the suspension was not provided, other than for disciplinary purposes.
The senior co-captain, who was named to the Doak Walker Award watch list on Wednesday, rushed for 909 yards and 10 touchdowns last season and was also a nice option out of the backfield in the passing game, finishing the year with 26 receptions. He dropped weight this offseason and was poised to revert back to his '08 form after battling a knee injury last season.
How long the suspension lasts is anyone’s guess at Texans jersey this point. The opener is nine days away.
Sophomore Kendial Lawrence will assume the No. 1 spot on the depth chart in Washington's absence. The team's third tailback, De'Vion Moore, has been out of practice the last week or so with an ankle injury, leaving the team thin in the backfield.
